Ben Kitili rates among the best news anchors in Kenya. He has worked in various leading media houses and has prevailed being fired as is the new norm in most media places. The prime-time news anchor presently works for Kenya Television Network, one of the country’s most old privately owned stations. The group was at one point the home of A-list journalists like Lilian Muli, Mashirima Kapombe, Janet Mbugua; investigative journalist bent politician Muhammed Ali and Alex Chamwada.

For some individuals, obtaining a job is very tiring and full of pessimism that may make some give up despite not Ben Kitili. After graduating from Daystar University, he labored to get a job as a journalist. However, he was left by different stations and at one time told he did not have what it carries to be a great journalist, and he should give up and do something else.
Thankfully, Ben muffled the voices that told him ‘you can’t’ and pressed on. In 2008, he got his breakthrough when Mediamax hired him as a K24 journalist. He started reporting sports news before he was offered the role of reporting news. Kitill did a fantastic job on the screen and drew the interest of Nation Media Group.
The seasoned news anchor vamoosed Mediamax to join Nation Media Group in 2011, where he performed as a reporter on NTV. He had already demonstrated that he had what it took to be an excellent newsman by this time. He delivered the news with style and eloquence and soon attracted the awareness of Standard Media Group, where he went to work for KTN in July 2013. To date, he still performs at the station and is one of the best prime-time news anchors. His pairing with Linda Ogutu is also a success as the two do a fantastic job on screen.

Ben wedded Amina Mude in 2018, something that directed in a lot of backlash as Amina is a Muslim and he is not. Nevertheless, his simple reply to the backlash was terrific.
“A beautiful day when I wedded the wife of my youth @amina_mude, who I swear to love and protect with my all..thank you all for your warm desires and prayers..we are humbled. To all my Muslim & Somali brothers and sisters, particularly my scheme is from Wajir, thanks a lot for your sort words & great reception. To those who are not so welcoming, we pardon you..you have a right to your idea as long as you don’t cross the line… God is more significant than religion..#Wajirfinest,” he wrote on Twitter.
Ben offered to Amina back in 2015, and they tied the knot in 2018 in a civil ceremony. They are gifted with two children.
A report by Nairobi News on June 30, 2020, published that the two had divorced after Amina wrote the following statement on Instagram:
“I want to alleviate the air before you begin reading some headlines. Ben and I are currently split. I don’t know what the future has, but I am grateful for the lovely memories and the beautiful children we made,” she said.
“It has been one month of pain & tears, but I know that one day the light will glow. So Watu was rumors; please don’t begin spreading lies. We are good. I am good. I will be sounder,” she explained.
In yet another report published on July 8, 2020, by E-News, she stated that her marriage was unharmed and had learned her lesson.
“Hey, babe @benkitili, I remember when we got wedded, you told me, ‘listen, Mulky, after all, is stated and done, marriage is not a mattress of roses’ I just grinned and thought ni zile advice zako mingi za life. But last week, it was evident that you were right; one point of anger made me compose something silly, and the bloggers blew it out of proportion. I have learned my lessons the difficult way. As a wife, I must respect and defend my husband.
And so, I like to clear the air, Ben & I are married. He will always be the man I love &honor all the days of my life,” she wrote.
