Itumbi and recognized investigative journalist Dennis Onsarigo go way back. The two once lived jointly and had leased a house in Mukuru Slums for only Ksh3,500 a month.

“Our First jobs produced a partly Ksh9,000 and less for a month’s work, but we abode it on our slide and kept our eyes on the top prize,” he stated during a past interview.
“Later as we pushed on, I met Martin Gitau, a man I have grown up with from my as a teenager days, and we jointly took a single room in Mbotela Slums – certainly an advance from the former place we lived, but here we had Richard Bosire, Amanda Benjamin & Kimura. At least here rent was not a problem,” he narrated.
Itumbi owns his blog along with a media company called Supreme Media.
He is into agriculture, with interests in pig & avocado farming.
Itumbi was honored with the 2006/07 GJLOS journalist of the year award. He was a journalist at Baraka FM and had done a piece on Mungiki.
“My inspiration was to reveal the life of a Mungiki member socially. I acknowledged that 60% were strong people; they had wives who were very religious and lived a regular life like any other person,” he said.
Fake DP Ruto Assassination Letter
Itumbi is no beginner to controversy. He was charged with a fake letter alleging a conspiracy to assassinate Deputy President William Ruto.
The court noted that the letter dated May 30, 2019, intended to cause public members commotion.
The letter had declared that four Cabinet Secretaries had assembled at La Mada Hotel to plot the assassination of the current Deputy President.
On June 15th, 2021, Itumbi was back in court, where an investigator testified in the case against the retired State House Digital Communications Director.
The digital strategist argued that an unknown man fired at him in a botched assassination endeavor.
Talking to Kenyans, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Communications Director Wanjohi Githae stated that a man aimed a short gun at Itumbi and fired at him. Still, he drove to speed from the scene.
“A man strode out aiming a gun at him and released some shots. Itumbi sped from the scene and hit another vehicle on the road in the process. He was not arrested. Reports alleging that the police arrested him are false,” he told the online publication.
Reports were first distributed on social media alleging that he had been captured with leaders allied with the UDA, wishing the blogger well.
