Hailing from Kwale County, Kanze was born in mid-1980. Here, she spent her productive years and started her educational journey. She is the fourth born in a family of 6. Her parents are from the Duruma subtribe, and when she was four years, her parents divorced; thus, she grew up under the care of her late single mom.

She started school at Kianjokoma Primary before moving to Kieni Girls in Embu County for her high school schooling. Initially, Dena was drawn towards the medical field and had attempted making applications to the Kenya Medical Training College with no sensation. So she instead registered at the Foundation College of Professional Studies to study Journalism & Mass Communication.
Kanze Dena Career Journey
Her profession kicked off at a restaurant where she served as a waitress. This was a job she held before she registered in college. Afterward, she got a secretarial position and later earned an internship with Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation (KBC). This was her entry point into the media world. Her manager detected her voice during her time and suggested testing out readership on the radio. She thrived and began reading 4 pm news at the radio station.
Before her assignment in the Deputy Statehouse Spokesperson post, she had operated at Citizen TV as a news journalist and news director at RMS. Dena then substituted Esipisu Manoah, who was made Kenya’s Ambassador to the UK.
Kanze Dena Personal Life
Kanze’s mother died away due to colon cancer. This was a year after she was bearing her child. She is married to Nuvision Media CEO Marrero Nick in 2019. The pair held a highly privatized wedding at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. They would later be endowed with a son named Amani.
