Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu Receives Death Threats

In early-2016, KTN’s Investigative Reporter Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu, obtained a death threat from a self-proclaimed mighty Kenyan’ who warned him to stop criticizing the Jubilee Government or otherwise he would be ‘completed.’
The man who recognized himself as Robert Wachira warned Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu to stroll with caution and notified him that he had the compromises and the power to do anything to destroy him.
Nevertheless, not cowed by the message, Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu shared the statement sent on his social media page.

The message read as shadows,

“Mr. Mohammed Ali, you are an immature boy. You just wedded the other day, and you now have a son smaller than one-year-old. I want to give you the last notice. Life is so precious if you don’t understand. LEAVE JUBILEE REGIME ALONE. WACHANA NA SERIKALI. WACHA KUINGILIA SERIKALI. UTAUMIA KIJANA.KAMA UNATAKA KUPATA SHIDA UTAIPATA TU. FANYA KAZI ZAKO KWA MAKINI SANA.
Accustomed to these kinds of threats and this not being the first one, Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu, who was previously quoted to have sworn to die for truth and decency, had this to say about the threat.
” VITISHO VYA VITOTO VIA JUBILEE CHINI YA UONGOZI WA KI-IMLA.” Translated as Inexperienced threats from the Jubilee under a dictatorial leadership.
Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu was alerted by Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery.
In January 2016, Interior & Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery demanded an immediate apology from Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu and his companion Yassin Juma for misleading information they relayed concerning Mandera mass grave or faced dire consequences.
Speaking during a press briefing, Nkaissery ignored the existence of any mass grave in Mandera or anywhere in the nation after excavation was carried out in the area.
The CS blamed Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu for not being patriotic to his country, adding that he had repeatedly put the security of Kenya at risk.
“This young man named Mohammed Ali has had a habit of permanently putting the security organ of the nation in the space of Al-Shabaab. He has been putting the safety agencies negatively and putting Al-Shabaab on the positive. It is immoral. That is unpatriotic,” Nkaissery stated.
Mohammed Ali Jicho Pevu was at the vanguard to report the mass tombs where supposedly 12 bodies were buried. He posted a gruesome photo of a woman’s body recognized as Isnina Mohammed, which was found buried in one of the alleged mass graves.
The Interior CS alleged that the female was a cook for the Al Shabaab at Bulla Hawa. They were routed by Amisom & the Somali National Army before escaping into Kenya and started selling tea at a kiosk in Mandera.
“We acknowledge she was an Al Shabaab sympathizer. However, we don’t know (who killed her), perhaps Al Shabaab,” he said.
