The media character was born in 1989.
She went to Matimbeni Primary school in Kiambu up to class five before proceeding to a boarding school. After the primary academy, she joined St. Luke’s High School.
Muthoni is the second-born of four kids, three girls and one boy. Growing up, she was very impertinent compared to her sister. She always got into the problem and was punished for it. Unfortunately, in mid-1998, when she was just 9 years, her father died. He was one of the considerable people whose life was cut short thanks to the 1998 terror invasion in Nairobi. Following his death, they were booted out of their home by families, and they had to seek shelter at their grandmother’s place. This was so hard for the family, and her mother sank into despair.
The former news anchor chose to pursue her acting passion soon after graduating. She did several Agikuyu films. Interestingly, all the writings were written in English. Therefore, she had to read, internalize & translate to Agikuyu. She excelled and started to be noticed for her talent.
Later, she got an opportunity to do a voice-over for Mediamax Network Ltd possessed station Kameme FM. This disclosed her to the world of media and, in turn, enabled her to land the job at Inooro FM.
She entered Inooro TV as a news anchor. For five years, she performed at the station alongside Ken Wakuraya. The two had amazing chemistry that helped keep their watchers glued on the screen.
In December 2020, she declared her exit from the station.
“It’s been an incredible five years, but my expedition at Inooro TV has come to an end. I want to thank you, my lovers, friends, supporters, and everyone who has helped me during the journey. I will miss you dearly,” she declared on 28 December.
She said that quitting her job was not an easy conclusion to make on her YouTube channel. She thought hard regarding it and, on most occasions, wondered if it was the honorable thing, but finally, she went for it.
She also said in a most recent interview that after quitting Inooro TV, she received a lot of offers to join different media houses but turned them down. This is because she required time for herself and worked on projects that required solitude that the media could not afford her.
“I’m taking some while off to work on very personal projects that I feel I cannot do when I am in mainstream media since they require a lot of privacy,” she said.
Mukiri runs a YouTube channel anointed Muthoni’s Mission. She has collected thousands of subscribers and has a lot of inspirational content, especially on cognitive health. “Eventually, I split it off with him, & it hurt so bad. I lost a lot of weight, my face broke out, nobody was working in my life, & at some point, I even had to contact a therapist; it was so bad, but finally I worked on myself, went via every step of the pain & I got over him.”
