Nairobi is often guided to as the green city under the sun & rightly so. The capital city of Kenya has encountered tremendous growth over the years. Investors are flowing money in buildings that come in attractive architectural structures. Nairobi has some of the tallest towers in Africa.
This article includes a list of top tallest buildings in Nairobi as of January 2022. However, there are a few other facilities under construction that will in the future be among the most towering in Africa. The 88 Nairobi Condominium str which will be 218 meters (715ft) will presumably top the list.

The imposing structure was named the top building in Africa in the global architecture awards reported in Germany. The 31 storey tower offers panoramic and spectacular views of the surrounding areas, including the Nairobi National Park. It is 660ft (200m) from the ground and has a 12-story car park that can adjust up to 1,000 vehicles.
UAP Old Mutual Tower
Found in Upper Hill Nairobi, the 33-storey tower was completed in 2015. Upon its completion, it evolved the tallest building at the time, surpassing the Times Tower.
The tower is owned by UAP Old Mutual Holdings was designed to mimic old architecture in New York, the Empire State construction.
The 535ft (163m) building illustrates the city at night with its amazing LED lights. The entire exterior is well covered with hundreds of led bulbs spaced evenly and worked individually to suit various events.
With its standing height being 5,700 feet above sea level, UAP Old Mutual Tower defeated Rahimtulla Tower as the tallest point in Nairobi.
The milestone building also named the new Central Bank Tower, was the most towering in Kenya for around 15 years. At 459ft, it is presently the third tallest tower in Nairobi. It has 38 floors, a seven storey banking complex and an 11-split storey car park. It is developed to withstand earthquakes and is majorly used by the Kenya Revenue Authority. The building finished in May 2000 is open every day but during public holidays and protection is tight. You need to have a designation document to enter.
The tower was constacted by the Central bank of Kenya in partnership with the government.
The tower’s construction owned by King’s developer began in 2013 and was completed in 2018. The tower has 28 floors &a 5 storey car parking lot. Found along Ngong Avenue, the 34 storey building stands at 133m and its eye-catching architectural layout makes it a beautiful sight to behold.
Found in Westlands, Nairobi, Le Mac is a 24 storey commercial and residential building standing 124 meters above the ground and possessed by Mark Properties. Le Mac was prepared by architect cum politician Sylvia Mueni who possesses Sycum solutions company. Headquarters are housed on six floors while residential belongings are housed on 14 floors. It also has three basement parking levels.
The building has 26 floors and five below the ground and its primary use is by the government. The government of Kenya owns it.
Standing at 120 meters from the ground, the structure was once the third tallest in the city and was initially owned by Teleposta Pension Scheme & Provident Fund. It is found right at the heart of the city along Kenyatta avenue. The building began in 1996 and was finished three years later. Anthony Gleeson designed the tower homes Telkom Kenya, Kenya Ministry of Trade & Kenya Ministry of Information & Communication.
Kenya Commercial Bank Plaza
Found in Upper Hill, the plaza was constructed in 2015, five years after construction started. Kenya Commercial Bank Group is the primary tenant and the building is equipped with solar panels to supplement the energy from the national grid. Apart from this, it has the ability to gather and treat rainwater to be used in the structure. The building is officialy owned by
Kenya Commercial Bank group.
The Kenyatta international Convention Center
The milestone building is located in Nairobi’s City Square and is a critical address for a number of government offices and is a state owned corporation. It was the tallest structure in the country before the building of Teleposta towers.
It is understood for hosting conferences, meetings and conferences and is ranked one of the top locales to host conferences in the continent.
The 28 storey facility sits at 105.2 meters and is one of the top facilities tourists visit to take a look at the Nairobi view.
National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Building
The building is 103 meters beyond the ground and houses 28 floors possessed by NSSF. In addition, it leases out office space to several people or groups for both private and government objectives.
